Fiat 500 launched in India

What does one do on a Friday evening in a metropolis like Mumbai? Well, if you’re the kind who prefers to get back home and relax, read no further. Well, on second thought, you should rather read this all the more carefully, as it contains the subject that will urge you to get out of the cozy confines of your bedroom. And if you are the sort who likes to head-bang to mad music at a discotheque or just grove in sync with the beats, you will associate with what we experienced on this Friday, the 18th. New 1.2 Kappa i10, Auto Transmission & Hyundai progression in India

Hyundai launched the all new 1.2 L Kappa engine for the i10 yesterday and upped the power on the i10 from 67bhp to 80 bhp@5200 rpm. Even though it was made clear that the 1.1 iRDE engine would still be available in India, the Kappa will go all out in the export market. There was a media drive a day before the Kappa launch, from Chennai to Pondicherry or Puduchery, covering a total of 300 km. VW Jetta launched. Honda Civic beware!

Volkswagen, the latest German auto manufacturer to enter the Indian market, launched the Jetta today amidst much fanfare in Mumbai. Present at the launch ceremony were Mr. Jörg Müller, President and MD, Volkswagen Group India and Mr. Makham Dhalivaal, MD, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India among other eminent members of the Volkswagen family. The event kick started with the usual introductions and soon Mr. Müller took over the rostrum. Addressing the media gathering he emphasized upon Jetta being an important product for VW since the German auto major wants to establish itself as a volumes player in near future in the Indian subcontinent. Volkswagen Group has been in the subcontinent since 2001 when they set up the manufacturing plant at Aurangabad for Skoda. Read the rest of this entry »
